The UMA GT Women’s Half Shorts blend several proven textiles and construction techniques to create a truly unique pair of shorts that are as fast as they are comfortable. Like our high-end Laalalai Shorts, they’re cut from Type.439 Diadema, a fabric chosen for its exceptional stretch, high-wicking, and compressive capabilities. Wind-tunnel tested and using our aerodynamic Fenomeno1 design, these are our some of our fastest women’s cycling shorts yet.
The precise fit comes down to the waistband design, where we applied our breathable, ultrasoft Aerofit material at the front, using a fold-over construction that comfortably holds the shorts in place across the abdominals. We did the same at the lower legs, adding a secure, stay-put fit with an asymmetrical hold on the thighs. Compared to our Laalalai shorts, these are 2.5cm shorter in length. And in terms of the insert, we’ve sewn in the lightweight, breathable S7 EVO to deliver targeted support and all-day comfort.
Type.439 Diadema: A textile created with our fabric suppliers to meet our demands of performance, comfort, and durability, with built-in iceColor and odorControl. Unique within the industry, the weave has two different rates of 4-way stretch, requiring great expertise to maximize the elasticity of the fabric on the cutting table.
Aerofit: An ultrasoft warp-knit applied to the waist and legs, woven with an open structure for maximum ventilation and featuring high elasticity plus built-in odorControl.
UMA S7 EVO: The UMA elastic interface insert, evolved. New black colorway, and our proven 8mm of memory foam, this female-specific insert is nestled at the intersection between comfort and performance.
3D waffle: A patented, three-layer perforated foam that increases breathability and eliminates excess weight.
goldenGate: A patented technology that interrupts the stitching along both of the insert’s side panels, allowing a more three-dimensional freedom of movement in this sensitive, rotational area.
2L Waist: Fold-over front panel design creates a smooth, pressure-free transition between the body and fabric.
2L Tapered Legs: Fold-over design in our Aerofit textile creates a smooth, asymmetrical hold on the thighs to keep the shorts securely in place.
